Since 1997, Volkswagen had been working with a customized version of the famous Futura typeface, developed by Erik Spiekermann and Luc de Groot. The visual appearance of the cars has evolved ever since and it was time for change. This new typeface is known as "Volkswagen Text" and serves as a replacement for the old “Volkswagen Utopia” font while VW OT is being replaced by Volkswagen Head. It represents the work of an outside agency called MetaDesign and according to VW’s marketing chief Xavier Chardon it will be used both on the outside and inside of their cars as well as on the brochures. The updated typeface has such clean and clear texture, which helps to differentiate Volkswagen cars from everything else on the road. The VW badges with the new font for their most popular models such as Passat, Polo, Jetta, Touareg and of course Golf could be found on our website autobeauties.com.
